Cake Warehouse is a New Zealand based small business, that designs and cuts custom acrylic cake toppers and ships them nationwide. Whether it is a birthday, wedding, baby shower or business event, this guide will give you some pointers to help you when choosing, ordering and using your topper.
What is a custom cake topper?
A cake topper is a decoration that sits on top of your cake, usually a name, age or message. Ours are laser cut from acrylic so they are sturdy, and reusable if you want to use it year after year!

- Choose your processing time. Standard is 3 working days, Urgent is 1-2.
- Check out and we will make and ship it to you.

What size topper do I need?
Think about your cake size, and how much space you would like your topper to take up.
A 10” cake with a 4” topper will have a lot of space around the outside, but that might suit if there is a lot of other decorations. A 6” cake with a 6” topper means the topper is going to be the same size as the cake, so if you have other decorations it could be a little big!

What font will be best?
Have a think about what style of font will suit your cake, and then it’s down to personal preference! Some people prefer a really simple font to be most readable, whereas others want something fancy.
Caring for your topper
- Clean gently with dishwashing liquid and warm water after use if you’d like to keep it. Use a soft cloth to prevent scratching.
- Store flat or wrapped to keep it scratch free.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a custom topper take? For urgent processing, allow 1-2 working days. For standard processing, it is 3 working days, plus shipping on top.
Can I get a topper by this weekend? The absolute latest to order with urgent processing would be Wednesday lunchtime. This gives you a good chance of Friday delivery however once it leaves our warehouse I can't guarantee there will be no delays with shipping.
Can I see a proof before it is made? We do not send proofs as standard. If you would like one please ask but there would be an extra charge of $5. If you are ordering a completely bespoke topper different to the ones on our website then we would send a proof for those.
Can you make a topper from my own design or logo? Yes! There are limitations to what I can make but if it is a simple design where colours or words can be cut as pieces, I can turn it into a topper.
Are acrylic toppers reusable? Yes, they can be cleaned and kept as a keepsake.
Do you do wholesale or bulk orders for bakers? We offer a wholesale discount to customers in trade, which gives a percentage off each order. You would need to be ordering a minimum of five per month. To save shipping we can also bundle and send these as needed. If you have a storefront and you're looking for ready made custom toppers to sell, we can help with that too.
Do you ship to the North and South Island? Yes, we ship New Zealand wide.
